Mark J. Alonso
Mark Alonso attended the Fordham University School of Law, graduating in 1980. He is admitted to the New York State and Federal Bar. He was Writing & Research Editor of the Fordham Urban Law Journal and published a Comment entitled Environmental Law: Federal Pre-emption and the Commerce Clause, 6 Fordham Urb. L.J. 649 (1979).
In 1979 and 1980, Mr. Alonso served as a research assistant to the late Joseph M. McLaughlin, then dean of the law school and later a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, assisting in the redrafting of his Practice Commentaries to Articles 60 through 77 of McKinney's Civil Practice Law and Rules. Since 1981, Mr. Alonso has actively practiced law, specializing in the fields of commercial litigation, commercial real estate litigation, securities litigation, general corporate and business practice, constitutional law, zoning, matrimonial law, and domestic relations. He has argued numerous appeals and performed innumerable jury and non-jury trials and arbitrations in all areas.
Catania T. Facher
Catania Facher is a principal of Alonso & Facher, P.C. and a seasoned first-chair commercial and employment litigator with over two decades of experience representing financial institutions, corporate clients, and individuals in complex federal and state matters.
Ms. Facher received her BA, with honors, from the University of Miami, and her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. Prior to joining Alonso & Facher, she interned with the National Labor Relations Board and clerked for the NLRB Judges’ Division.
Ms. Facher’s practice encompasses commercial litigation, employment law, and intellectual property. She represents a diverse client base, including broker-dealers, investment banks, commercial banks, garment manufacturers, hospitality groups, nursing homes, and startups across all phases of litigation, from early case assessment through trial, arbitration, and appellate advocacy. She regularly appears before federal and state courts, the DOL, EEOC, and USPTO, as well as FINRA, JAMS, and AAA arbitration forums.
Ms. Facher also advises employers on day-to-day employment matters, including hiring and termination decisions, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, and the drafting and enforcement of employment and restrictive covenant agreements. She maintains an active trademark prosecution and enforcement practice at the USPTO and IMPI, including TTAB opposition and cancellation proceedings.
Ms. Facher is admitted to practice in New York (2004) and Florida (2016), the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Southern District of California, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits.
She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (New York Metro Area) and named among The Top Women Attorneys in the New York Metro Area.
Ms. Facher is fluent in Spanish and has conversational proficiency in Japanese.

Erin Mac Avoy
Erin Mac Avoy received her Bachelor’s degree from New York University in 2001 and graduated from St. John’s School of Law in 2004. Ms. Mac Avoy was a member of the NY International Law Review and clerked in the Supreme Court, Nassau County, for Judge Elaine Jackson Stack. She is an accomplished attorney and negotiator with more than 20 years of diverse experience, providing expert counsel on a broad range of legal and compliance issues.
Ms. Mac Avoy has a demonstrated track record in handling all aspects of complex commercial litigation and arbitration from inception to trial and has briefed and argued appeals. In addition to commercial litigation, Ms. Mac Avoy’s practice includes employment law, real estate and zoning issues, securities compliance and general corporate matters.
Ms. Mac Avoy is licensed to practice in New York and Colorado as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Karine Ter-Grigoryan
Karine Ter-Grigoryan represents clients in various commercial litigation, securities litigation, general corporate and business practices, and domestic relations. She provides guidance involving financial services, complex shareholder disputes, and corporate investigations. Additionally, Ms. Ter-Grigoryan assists clients in discovery oversight, motion practice and witness preparation.
Before coming to Alonso & Facher, P.C., Ms. Ter-Grigoryan was a federal, judicial extern for the Hon. Vera Scanlon of the Eastern District of New York and completed two externships with the Legal Aid Society - Criminal Division. Ms. Ter-Grigoryan received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, where she was also awarded the Gold-Public Service Award for over +1000 hours of distinguished commitment to public service. She also earned a Certificate in Criminal Law, focusing on white-collar, securities, and sex crimes.
Prior to law school, Ms. Ter-Grigoryan received a dual degree from Boston University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Currently, she is licensed to practice law in the state of New York and New Jersey.

Victoria Schwartz
Victoria Schwartz’s practice spans commercial litigation and transactional law, including business and ownership disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, co-op and condo litigation, and transactional commercial leasing matters. She has “first chair” trial and motion experience in New York Supreme Court, the Appellate Division, arbitration, and mediation, and advises and represents clients on a range of transactional and business matters.
Ms. Schwartz received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design and her Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Eugene Lang College. She earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she completed a professional concentration in Intellectual Property and Information Law and served as a Staff Editor on the International Comparative, Policy & Ethics Law Review. She is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
