Mark J. Alonso

Mark attended the Fordham University School of Law, graduating in 1980. He is admitted to the New York State and Federal Bar. He was Writing & Research Editor of the Fordham Urban Law Journal and published a Comment entitled Environmental Law: Federal Pre-emption and the Commerce Clause, 6 Fordham Urb. L.J. 649 (1979

In 1979 and 1980, he was the research assistant to then-Dean (now United States Circuit Court Judge) Joseph M. McLaughlin in his redrafting of his Practice Commentaries to Articles 60 to 77 of McKinney's Civil Practice Law and Rules. Since 1981, Mr. Alonso has actively practiced law, specializing in the fields of commercial litigation, commercial real estate litigation, securities litigation, general corporate and business practice, constitutional law, zoning, matrimonial law and domestic relations. He has argued numerous appeals, and performed innumerable jury and non-jury trials and arbitrations in all areas.

Mr. Alonso has appeared on all local news stations with respect to the firm's newsworthy cases and has appeared as a commentator on Fox NewsChannel and Court TV with respect to various issues.

Catania T. Facher

Catania received her Bachelor's Degree from University of Miami. She received her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn School of Law. Ms. Facher has interned with the National Labor Relations Board as well as clerked for the National Labor Relations Board-Judges' Division. Ms. Facher comes to Alonso, Andalkar & Kahn with a background in labor and employment law, secondary source lending, real estate matters, and banking. She has also worked in the areas of finance, real estate, and foreclosure at McCabe, Weisberg & Conway. She is licensed to practice in New York State, as well as the District Courts for both the Eastern and Southern District of New York.

 

Ms. Facher is fluent in Spanish and Japanese. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association.

Erin Mac Avoy

Anna Hallam

Erin MacAvoy received her Bachelor’s degree from New York University in 2001 and graduated from St. John’s School of Law in 2004.  Erin was a member of the NY International Law Review and clerked in the Supreme Court, Nassau County for Judge Elaine Jackson Stack. She is an accomplished attorney and negotiator with more than sixteen years of diversified experience providing expert counsel on a broad range of legal and compliance issues. Erin has a demonstrated track record in handling all aspects of complex commercial litigation and arbitration from inception to trial and has briefed and argued appeals.  In addition to commercial litigation, Erin’s practice includes employment law, real estate and zoning issues, securities compliance and general corporate matters.

Anna Bomstein Hallam received her Bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University, and her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law.  She has extensive and diverse experience working in the commercial litigation field, including professional liability, director & officer insurance coverage matters, as well as a wide variety of other civil litigation work, handling all aspects of case management from inception through disposition.  Her professional background also includes work in mass tort, real estate taxation, products liability, employment and municipal law.  Ms. Hallam has also worked as in-house counsel in the financial industry managing corporate matters globally.  She is licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Karine Ter-Grigoryan

Karine Ter-Grigoryan received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boston University in 2015. Ms. Ter-Grigoryan received her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School with a professional concentration in Criminal Law, focusing on white-collar and securities crimes. While in law school, Ms. Ter-Grigoryan was a federal, judicial extern for the Hon. Vera Scanlon of the Eastern District of New York and completed two semesters with the Legal Aid Society - Criminal Division. She has a deep dedication to public service and completed over +1000hrs while at Brooklyn Law School. Currently, she is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

Victoria Schwartz

Victoria Schwartz received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Parsons School of Design and her Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Eugene Lang University. Ms. Schwartz received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a professional concentration in Intellectual Property and Information Law. While in law school, she was a Staff Editor on the International Comparative, Policy & Ethics Law Review. Ms. Schwartz is a member of the New York City Bar Association and serves on the New York City Bar Entertainment Law Committee.

Jennifer K. Rankin

Jennifer Rankin graduated from St. John’s University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics. She received her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. Prior to joining the firm Ms. Rankin worked in the bar exam prep world where she helped students prepared for the bar exam in NY, CT, and NJ.  She is licensed to practice in New York.  Ms. Rankin is a member of the New York City Bar Association.
